Come join me on a little life adventure of a healthy, fit future without driving myself or my friends and family crazy. I am a 60 year old grandma. I am an ACE certified personal trainer. I have always been active, but never slim, slender, thin, skinny...whatever you call it, I have never been.I started lifting weights over 30 years ago. I can gain 10 pounds in a month, no problem.  I like food. I like beer. I can't overdo either.

The information coming at us every day can just send our brains to tornado mode. Eat fat, no fat, low fat, salt, no salt, endurance exercise, Short high intensity exercise, gluten, no gluten.....on and on and on....

I am a Christian, but not a Bible thumping Christian. In fact, I am glad to know and love Jesus, because some of his friends could/ would send me running the other way. I will share with you what I find in the Bible about food. I know we are "fearfully and wonderfully made"(Psalm139:14)
We are told to "offer our bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God" (Romans 12:1). What do those words mean to me-to you?  I know I am blessed. I know each of you are blessed and God loves not one of us more than another.  I know we can accomplish anything if we believe and tap into the physical, spiritual, and mental strength God gives us; strength to "soar on wings like eagles. Run and not grow weary (for the short challenges) walk and not faint (for the long journey) Isaiah 40:31

I am healthy, thankfully.  I have a great BP, blood sugar, and lipid levels. I would really like to be 2 sizes smaller. I am very strong. I like who I am.

As I age, I struggle even more with my weight. I can't or won't  "work harder" as my old muscles and  joints have suffered enough wear and tear. I have a partially torn rotator cuff and bicep tendon. My hips and knees feel their age and abuse.  Sitting for long can make me so stiff I can hardly move.

Because I am so sick of too much, continuous new information on "how to do it right", I thought I would make my own "more information". I am developing my own plan for us old, but healthy, active, but no longer hard core athlete types. We'll see how it goes. This is a work in progress, as am I. I know I want to age with great health, happiness, Grace, wisdom, laughter, love, strength, power, kindness, and abundance of all good things. I know I want  to (must) share the journey.

I invite you to join me. Let's figure out what works for each one. We do know ourselves individually,
if we will take time to listen to our body, mind, and  Spirit.

We can only do the best we can do with the information we have at present.
